Vitamin D low, how much should I take per day?

I had posted a while back that the Dr. prescribed me 50,000 iu's twice per week, but for 8 pills @ 30.00 I think that's a bit much. I had 5000 iu pills now and opted not to get the prescrip stuff this time. Can I just take 2 of the 5k iu's of the D3 ED? I know it's not 100,000 total for the week, but I thought the D3 was more potent so that's why I ask.

Your 50K Drisdol D2's don't numerically convert to the same amount of D3. Yes, you can take 10K D3 per day if you know your level is low. Always best to start lower and titrate up based on BW though. Remember to take these with a large meal as they are fat soluble and absorb better that way. D is actually a hormone and one of the most important ones out there. It's in every cell in your body. Just don't overdo it as it can be toxic. Remember, fat soluble, not water soluble.

Ok great, thanks for that info. I was already taking 5k iu's a day, and it still came back low.. I don't really understand why. Does doing a lot of cardio by chance flush it out or something weird?
